Narada Michael Walden is headed to Asia to “spread the Divine Light and bring the Soul to Seoul, Korea” with Jeff Beck where they’ll play their first show for this 2010 World Tour. Jeff and Narada are delighted to be performing together after 25 years with the Amazing Rhonda Smith on Bass and Jason Rebello on Keys.

Jeff Beck and his monster Band will be in Hong Kong, Australia (Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Byron Bay), Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka), and then will tour the USA (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Temecula, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Tulsa, Kansas City, St Louis, Memphis, New Orleans). And that’s just the first leg of the tour.

When the tour takes a short break in May, Narada will perform his role as musical director and drummer for Sting and Trudie Styler’s Rainforest Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on May 13th. Then it’s back on the road again for the European leg of the tour.

Narada Michael Walden is headed out to tour with his 1st Gold Record buddy Jeff Beck. Thirty-five years ago they received a Gold Record for the album “Wired” which Narada co-wrote, produced AND played drums on. They are reuniting for a world tour which will start in March.

2009 was busy with wonderful projects and shows. In May on Memorial Day, at Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, Narada produced and played drums for the Narada Michael Walden Foundation’s “Let the Sunshine In” concert featuring Sting, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, David Grisman, Keb Mo, Chris Botti, Tevin Campbell, Shanice Wilson, Jeanie Tracy, Lisa Fischer from The Rolling Stones, opera great Frederica von Stade and more as well as a full orchestra from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music led by conductor Michael Morgan from the Oakland East Bay Symphony and 35 piece backup band. With a cast of over 300. The show benefited young Christopher Rodriguez, twelve years old who was paralyzed by a stray bullet while at his piano lesson. The event also benefited the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with the creation of a new scholarship chair.

2009 also brought Tarpan the Power of Music Project! Power of Music took the entire studio to Madrid for songwriting and artist introductions. From there we dove into the studio and a full album of fantastic new songs was created ready for all the stars to bring their voices to complete the project. This is a project to benefit Unicef. Tarpan looks forward to the working further on the Power of Music cd in 2010.

We closed out 2009 with Narada’s annual Foundation Holiday Jam held at 142 Throckmorton in Mill Valley California. The event was sold out, with Santana closing the show. What a great way to end the year!
